Eph 3

Eph 3:1 "For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, if ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you ward: how that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ)" ~ 'For this cause'. We need to look back at (2:15) wherein he tells us that God incarnated in the flesh, being one in Christ, had abolished sin, represented in the scapegoat, which was lead in a land uninhabited (Lev 16:22), by the fit man - (Jesus), reconciling the world (entire family) unto him self (2 Cor 5:19). Jesus the man having fulfilled the law in stone, which was after the flesh (Gal 4:23) wherein they were held (Rm 7:8) in captivity (Eph 4:8), in bondage (Heb 2:18), subject unto the law in stone. He now declares 'having supposed himself alive' in as he states in (Phil 3:6) 'blameless as touching the righteousness of the law'. He found it to have deceived him and slew him (Rm 7:9,10), for when the new commandment came, sin revived, revealing his sin nature inherited from his father Adam (Rm 5:19). He then tells them that this new age (dispensation of grace) hath revealed unto him the mystery, which had been hid, shut up (Gal 3:23) until the grace age, coming with power on the day of Pentecost. The purpose of the revelation of the mystery (promise to Abraham) was that ye may understand it also.

Vs 5 "Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that the Gentiles should be fellow heirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel." ~ As in the above verse this mystery (knowledge of the complete work of atonement) was not made known before the new covenant of faith (Rm 12:3, 1 Jh 5:4) came. We have already seen where it is recorded in Eph 2:14 where he broke down the middle wall of partition between the Jew and Gentile. This was good news to those Gentiles who had until this time been alienate from any knowledge of God (Acts 17:23), save knowing there was a higher power than self. We do find a few of the Gentiles which God did communicate with from time to time as recorded in Hebrews chapter eleven. These were yet without a law (Rm 5:13) that defines sin, having only the knowledge of good and evil that came with the fruit of the spirit. The knowledge of sin came with the law in stone (Heb 10:3). The promise (knowledge of the atonement) was not given until the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Ghost as the administrator of the new covenant of faith was poured out upon those called to be a witness of the truth in this time world. The body speaks of the body of true believers, that is 'Jesus is the Christ' (Jh 20:31, 1 Jh 5:1).

Vs 7 "Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power." Only those call of God to this service can fill this responsibility. It is a grave responsibility place upon any man and should not be taken lightly. I do not know of one who is truly call, ever seek this responsibility; but as a rule they tend to run from it as did Jonah.

Vs 8 "Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ." This thought is repeated over and over, that this knowledge was not revealed until the Holy Ghost administered the new covenant of faith, starting on the day of Pentecost. We are told in Job 9:2 that even though Job knew that he had a redeemer, he yet did not understand how man could be just with God. This mystery was contained in the promise (Gal 3:29) given to Abraham, (Justification by God himself [Eloyhim - Gen 22:8] as He was in Christ [2 Cor 5:19] making an atonement for all of his children). It required an eternal entity (soul) to compress the eternal debt into three hours, the son of man (Holy One) could not make this payment (Acts 2:27).

Vs 10 "To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord: in whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him." ~ This further defines the timely context of the lesson here in Ephesians. God purposed before the foundation of the earth, to betroth a bride unto his Son, Jesus, wherein the truth would be witnessed in this time world. It was foretold from Abraham in types and shadows during the law age; but was made clear in the grace age by the Holy Ghost as he administers the new covenant of faith unto the called out, betrothed bride of Jesus.

Vs 13 "Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory." ~ We should not allow the trials and trouble that God is allowing us to go through here in time to cause us to faint, and fail in our disciple ship. In the second Thessalonians Paul encourages these brethren saying, (1:6) 'To you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with and everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power'. The time under consideration is when Jesus came with his angels to Judge his own (Mt 16:27,28). This took place at the destruction of the Jewish place of worship. When he came to his own in (John 1:11), He gave his own the privilege, power to be glorified in his presence, but they rejected the council against themselves (Mt 21:32). He has now cut them off from the glory of this power (Rm 11:15) as He did Israel of old (Nu 14:22). In the end time there is not record of his angels being with him (1 Thes 4:16, 1 Cor 15:52).

Vs 14 "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named." 'For this cause', again he refers back to the cause that move him to bow his knee unto the Father, Jehovah. It was his deliverance form the bondage of the law after the flesh, which held him captive to the flesh. Here we have the whole family of God represented in the name of Jesus, as an example for men to pattern their lives after.

Vs 16 "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love." ~ Faith worketh by love (Gal 5:6), which is motivated by the inner man, that which is born of God (1 JH 5:4), having the mind of Christ (1 Cor 2:16), the seed that doeth not commit sin (1 Jh 3:9). If one is grounded in love, he is able to convert a sinner from the error of his way... and cover a multitude of sins (Jm 5:20).

Vs 18 "May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." ~ Only in love will one be able to comprehend the extent of God's grace.

Vs 20 "Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus
through out all ages, world without end. Amen." ~ How any one can get more out of this lesson then the church, and the glory that is left to those to whom he has granted this power, privilege, and glory is beyond this poor mortals thinking.

Eph 2

Ephesians 2 :1 "And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others." ~ Paul is addressing these Gentile brethren (v 12) who, until the new covenant was administered unto them, were aliens to the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenant of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world. These Gentiles were considered dead (having only the fruit of the spirit to guide them in the good things of God), being as those to whom Paul came unto (Acts 17:23), walking in ignorance (30) as disobedient children (Ti 3:4). He goes on to say, we Jews were walking in the same disobedience having our (Jews) conversation in the lust of the flesh, for the law was only designed to bring to the remembrance of sin (Heb 10:3) in the flesh (Gal 3:23). Yes, all both Jew and Gentile, were by the nature of Adam, children of wrath.

Vs 4 "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) and hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: that in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus." ~ God’s mercy intervened as purposed before the foundation of the world to bring together a bride (Isa 65:8,9) for his son Jesus, raising his bride from the bondage of the law which held them captive (Heb 2:15). This was designed too shew unto ‘us’ his bride, in ages to come, the exceeding riches of his grace. We are informed in Romans 11:15 that this bondage is where one is raised from the dead. It is these that the Husband bids to come and dine (Jh 21:12), there to be with her husband in the heavenly places (upper room, brides chamber - Mt 25:10) wherein he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace toward us.

Vs 8 "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast." This faith was shut up unto all of those before the day of Pentecost (Gal 3:23), who followed after the law (Rm 9:32, Gal 4:23), being after the flesh, and not of faith (Gal 3:12). Paul, in his letter to the Galatians, being guided by the Holy Ghost, does a good job in contrasting how those under the law walked by sight to those who are called unto the marriage of the Lamb, as they walk by this inner motivation of faith (1 Jh 5:4). If we analyze any of those under the works systems of the world, we will find that they also are, in reality, not walking by faith but by sight. If this be true, then only those who have the knowledge of the truth are included in this lesson, therefore even though this is given unconditionally, it demands conditions to reap the benefits found therein. This is further verified by the following verse: "For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." ~ The bride only is given the responsibility of maintaining the true worship in this time world. An elite group, I thank not, but they are the bond servants (Ex 21:6) who carry a grave responsibility to serve their master, husband, as they strive to walk in the strait and narrow way.

Vs 11 "Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; that at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." Paul herein is specifically addressing the Gentiles who were without any law (Rm 5:13) before the event of the Holy Ghost, being guided only by the nine elements of the fruit of the spirit (Eph 6:22). The fruit of the spirit was present in Adam upon God opening his eye to understanding good from evil, and would continue as recorded in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews, in the conscience of all the children of God. Having only this one testimony, they could recognize there is a higher power than self (Acts 17:23), and knowing as Job, that man is just before the Thrice Holy God, yet unable to understand how. Paul does not leave these disciples with this knowledge only, but informs that they are now brought nigh by the Passover blood of Jesus Christ.

Vs 14 "For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: and came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh." This good news of the gospel must have resonated with these poor disciples, and brought the peace that passeth all understanding (Phil 4:7). He also informs them that the law of the old commandments, which he, as an Israelite, had been subject unto: Jesus in his flesh had abolished. Now both the Israelites and Gentiles are reconciled, as God was in Christ reconciling the world of all, both Jew and Gentile unto himself. This took place in the last three hours of darkness as the sin debt was laid upon the head of the scapegoat (Gen 22:8, Lev 16:22, 1 Cor 2:19)

Vs 18 "For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father." This restates the thought above, and adds the blessings of having access unto the Father for both Jews and Gentiles.

Vs 19 "Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord: in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit." Oh what joy must the poor Gentiles have felt, now realizing that they had more than gods of stone, but the blessed hope of a security with their Lord and Saviour Jesus.

Ephesians 1

Eph 1:1 "Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus: grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ." ~ If you will notice this letter was not addressed unto the children of God in general, but specifically unto the faithful saints. Having said this I am not saying Paul, nor any minister who is called today, can know who has been sanctified unto the truth as recorded in 2 Thess 2:13: therefore the servants of God must sow the word, seed wheresoever the Lord directs them. Having sown the word, seed it will find a logging in the heart of only those who hath an ear to hear (Mt 13:9), that is those who have been sanctified unto the truth, as 1 John 2:20 tells us, ‘those who have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things (Rm 8:28). I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth. It is my understanding that the unction of the Holy One is the ones too whom the Holy Ghost hath administered the new covenant unto. This inner law can not ever deceive nor promote a lie in the mind of those who are in possession of it. When the word is preached in the power and demonstration of the spirit, it will resonate with this inner law and those who hear will know the truth, which is able to set them free from the law of works. Having this knowledge does not insure that they will take up there cross and follow Jesus into the water grave. If they chose to follow the truth it will bring the conscience unto the peace from our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.

Vs 3 "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, to the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved." ~ Paul by the direction of Holy Ghost, informs these saints that the Father purposed before the foundation of the world: beginning with the coming of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:33), to betrothed unto Jesus (Hos 2:19), his son a bride. He continues actively engaged in adding members of his body unto him (Acts 2:47) through out the gospel day. Under the old covenant the Father adopted (Rm 9:4) his wife, Israel (Jer 31:32), out of the world of race of Adam, wherein they were placed when Adam partook of the tree of knowledge. Israel, and only Israel (no Gentile Eph 2:12) was adopted (Rm 9:4) under the law in stone. Their flesh (Heb 9:13), not their conscience was brought under this law of adoption, for we read in Galatians 4:23 where it was ‘after the flesh, which things are an allegory: for these are the two covenants; the one from the mount Sinai, which gendereth to bondage.’ Paul is herein showing how much more blessed are those who have been predestined unto the adoption under the new testament (Heb 9:15), called, sanctified, betrothed, unto Jesus are, than those who were under the old covenant. This new covenant has brought about a freedom to praise and glorify, as it is all by grace, which did not exist under the first. The phrase ‘accepted in the beloved’ is an enduring term, which is expressed between husband and wife. It then is my understanding that this is timely lesson, although the eternal principle can be taught herein, as long as we do not attempt to carry adoption further then the lesson allows. Adoption does not change the nature of the flesh, it is the inner man, seed, engrafted word, that causes a change in the lives of those called into this fellowship..

Vs 7 "In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: that in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him." ~ We need to read the entire thought embraced in this sentence before we assign this redemption (apolutrosis) to all of the family of God. There is three Greek word used in the translation of the different area of redeem, redeemed, and redemption. Young’s Concordance gives us these distinctions: The one used here is to purchase and set free. The other two ~ Agroazo – to buy from the market for one use (horse). This thought is seen in the way God uses the nation of Israel, Exagroazo – to buy from the market place to slaughter. This thought is recorded in Ps 2:8 ‘The heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.’ We need to ask how many of his children are made to known the mystery of his will? If we stay in context of the lesson it is the ‘us’ who have been called as the bride of Jesus. Also notice the following verse which first trusted in Christ.

Vs 11 "In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: that we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ." ~ Again God purposed to predestinate his bride unto the inheritance (New Canaan), that fadeth not away (1 Pet 5:4), found here in the third or gospel day. God hath purposed this for the praise of his glory, by positioning, giving them the unction of the Holy One, truth, wherein they were able to 'that Jesus is the Christ'. This is the fulfillment of the type found the children of Israel, which was given (unconditionally) an inheritance in the land of Canaan that did fade away (Heb 8:13). There are only three times wherein the phrase ‘believe that Jesus is the Christ’ is found, two (Jh 20:31, 1 Jh 5:1) positive, and one (2:22) in the negative. We can see that in the negative they are called an antichrist because they have denies that Jesus is the Christ, having the unction of the Holy One, which gave them creditable evidence to the truth, they denied it and lied about it. One cannot 'believe that Jesus is the Christ' without this inner man (unction of the Holy One) too testifies to this truth.

Vs 13 "In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. ~ This simply states that in order to trust, believe in any thing, one must have two creditable witnesses (first the law written upon the heart of the inner man, and second: the preaching of the gospel in power and demonstration of the spirit). Having the two witnesses this truth will be established in the mind for belief is involuntary. After this belief is established (Mt 18:16) in the mind, they then have a decision to make, either to deny it or confess it and attempt to follow after this truth. Once one believes, confess these truths, they are then sealed with the Holy Ghost and can not be deceived. This is not to say that one will not turn away from these wonderful truth (Heb 6:4), but in doing so he is committing a willful sin (1 Pet 3:5), or a sin unto death (1 Jh 5:17, 1 Sam 15:23). The redemption (Rm 8:23) of the purchased possession is speaking of the adopted bodies, which are to be present unto God as a living sacrifice, unto the praise of his glory until they are changed in the great day of the resurrection. Until such time these adopted bodies grown within them selves waiting for that glorious day of their redemption, wherein they will be set free of sin.

Vs 15 "Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints, cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers; that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints." ~ Paul having heard of these saints faith in Jesus rejoiced in this wonderful knowledge, and ceased not to give his Lord thank for such wonderful news. He then tells them that he continues to pray that the Father of Jesus would give them the spirit of wisdom in the revelation in this truth, that they may find greater enlightenment, which was able to increase their hope of this calling, as it is with all the saints who are enjoying this inheritance while they sojourn in the low ground of sorrow.

Vs 19 "And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: and hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all." ~ Paul further expressed how this understanding came unto these saints. It is by the working of his, not theirs’, might power. Paul by his experience realized, that this knowledge was empowered by the understanding that he was raised from the dead. This last part of this lesson defines who is under consideration herein. We understand that as God the Father raised up natural Israel, His wife (Jer 31:32), so the Son raises up and quicken whomsoever he will (Jh 5:21), that is his bride (spiritual Israel – Rm 11:7), being her head. When all things has been subdued unto him, Jesus the husband will relinquish His authority (1 Cor 15:27) as their husband while she dwelt here in time. Jesus the man will then be joint heirs with the entire family of God, worshipping the only true God, Elohyim.

1 Timothy Chapter 1 - 6

Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith
"As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: from which some having swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm."
Paul herein sets forth the need for Timothy to hold to the faith once delivered to the saints. This faith embodies the basic doctrines of the true church which are written in the pure heart, conscience of every true disciple of Christ. It is the all things found in Rom 8:28,29, and referred to in 1Jh 2:20: therein defining the completed work of God as he was in Christ (2 Cor 5:19) in the last three hours of darkness on the cross. It is by grace and grace alone ~ plus nothing. If one must believe in Jesus then it is not grace and they have swerved from the truth and their teaching has became but vain jangling. In reality they are again requiring their listeners to return unto will worship, which the law required, for they do not understand the perfection of the flesh, which the law required of them.
"But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust."
Paul simply states if we have added any thing of the flesh to the gospel: it ceases to be the good news of the redemptive work of Christ. In doing so we find ourselves under the bondage of the law, having made null and void the work of Christ, and done despite unto the new covenant of grace Heb 10:29. The purpose of the law was to define sin, unto those under the curse of the sin of Adam, and could never have been kept in perfection, by sinful man.
"And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me, faithful, putting me into the ministry; who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus: for this is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief. Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting."
Paul tells us here that God has made him a pattern for those who as he was a blasphemer. How? He, being without the (nc) witness of the Holy Ghost, ignorantly (Nu 15:22,24) opposed the truth. He also (Acts 26:11) "compelled others to blaspheme" by requiring them to deny the truth. Mark 3:28 "All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith so ever they shall blaspheme: but he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness." The lesson here is: if one oppose the truth ignorantly, they can received forgiveness for it. In other words mercy is extended to them; but to deny the truth in the face of creditable evidence to the contrary of such evidence is not forgivable (Heb 6:4). It is a sin unto death (1 Jh 5:17). In this case we are told in Gal 6:7 ‘whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." If one continues in this rebellion to the tenth time, as did the children of Israel in Nu 14:22, having sinned the sin unto death they are blinded to the truth (Jh 12:40) and shall die in the sin of unbelief. (Nu 27:3, Jh 8:24, Heb 6:4, 10:29)
"This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them (the prophecies), mightest war a good warfare; holding (Rm 12:3, 1 Jh 5:4) faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith (2 Pet 1:5) have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme." Paul tells Timothy that "he had turned Alexander over to Satan that he may learn not to blaspheme ." 1 Cor 5:5
These two brethren had denied the truth by failing to "Hold the (new covenant) faith, in a pure conscience (Heb 9:14); which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck." In other words, these two brethren had perverted the truth in opposition to that which was written in their hearts (new covenant dealt faith) to the extent that others followed them in their error, and their faith (understanding of the truth) was destroyed. This sound like those among us today who teach the false doctrine of perseverance and in do so is dividing the kingdom (Mt 12:25 - 45, LK 11:20,26).
1 Timothy 2
"God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time. Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity."
This sounds like the statement made by Peter in his 2nd epistle 3:9. Yes, God is long suffering, which can be seen under the old covenant in Num 14:22, wherein the children of Israel had tempted him ten time: to the point he told them they would die in their sins (Num 27:4). Here in this time world they had forever loose their enjoyment of the blessings afforded them in the land of Canaan. This can also happen under the new covenant (Jh 8:24, 14:40). The ransom for all is talking about the deliverance from the bondage of the law, wherein the law of faith (Rom 3:27), which is the law of Christ (Gal 6:2) hath made them free (Gal 3:19,26). This law is summed up in Galatians Gal 5:14 "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

1 Timothy 3
"This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. They that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith, which is in Christ Jesus. These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth."
This chapter is a simple definition of the office work of the Bishop and Deacon. Also that in this body only is found the true followers of their husband, Jesus the man.

1 Timothy 4
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer."
This is a stern warning to those who having known the truth, and departs from the faith once delivered to the saints. It is defined as a sin unto death. (1 Jh 5:17; Heb 6:4) This warning was given to the disciples of Paul's in his day for we are told in Eph 2:2 that this spirit is in the children of disobediemce, and also in 2 Thes 2:7 that this spirit doeth now, at that present time, is working to deceive the weak members of the church. As stated above we find this also working in the church today, for many of the disciples of Jesus is following after the false teachers of perseverance.
"If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained." ~ This is self-explanatory. Seen the last verse of this chapter. (Vs 16)
"This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, especially of those that believe. These things command and teach. Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee."
Yes, discipleship is definitely a labor of works, which requires sacrificing the desires of the flesh. Although the atonement covered the sins of all of God’s children, there is a special called out bride of Jesus that has received the double portion of the firstborn. Having been called by this special calling (2 Thess 2:13) one must exercise the dealt faith, by adding to it the things defined in 2 Pet 1:5-7. It those so called do so, then they have the assurance of their salvation, having put on the whole armor of God (Eph 6:130 wherewith they are able to stand against the wiles of the devil (1 Timothy 5).
"Rebuke not an elder (older man) but intreat him as a father, and the younger as brethren."
This needs no explanation. Yes it would include an older minister, but the lesson is simply speaking about the respect the young should show to the gray-headed men.
"Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day."
This again is a very simple defines those qualifying for widows indeed and it later says she must be at least sixty years old at this time Paul was writing to Timothy, now day the life span has increased: so would the age of dependence. The needs in that day were not supplied by the government as it is today. Whether or not this has proven to be a blessing or not could be questioned.
"I will therefore that the younger women marry, bear children, guide the house (her children not her husband). Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine"
The tern elder as used here has referring to the officers of the church, some elders labor in the word and doctrine and some do not. The term bishop is use to define the overseers of the congregational (singular) needs, meaning to shepherd, feed the flock (Acts 20:28). They are not the ministers in charge of the church, for the LORD is the one in charge. 1 Peter 5:1 "The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock." Acts 20:17 "From Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church (singular). And when they had come he taught then saying ‘I know that ye all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock (singular), over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood." We find in Ex 18:19 "Be thou for the people to God ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God: and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens." This is the worldly system that Moses father-in-law Jethro, a Midianite pagan priest gave unto Moses to govern the children of Israel. Several months later we find in Num 11:16, "The LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee. I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone." Herein we find that the worldly system that the Pagan priest had advised Moses to setup evidently was not working very well. We need to realize also, that it is Moses a judge, not Aaron the priest that is set in judgment of the children of Israel. Even so as a judge over the congregation there need to be more than a one man. This is just a little side note to express my concerns of one minister have the authority over the congregation as the so-called pastor of the church.
"Some men’s sins are open beforehand, going before to judgment; and some they follow after."
This is speaking of the judgment that is placed in the hand of those that has the responsibility of the welfare of the congregation. When a man’s sin is public knowledge, then the church must set in judgment of the man, but if it is not public knowledge, the Lord will recompence to them their reward. Gal 6:7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. The everlasting life in this context has reference to the life one enjoys in the assembly of the saints (1 Jh 2:27) .
1 Timothy 6
The first part of this chapter is giving Timothy instructions on how those in the church so conduct themselves before those who has authority over them. This is especially true if the master is a member of the church. In verse three he goes on to inform the servant that do other wise is in opposition to our Lord Jesus Christ. In doing other wise he has become proud, not knowing that he is in opposition to his Lord. If they are willingly obedient to their master then they are exercising contentment, which is great gain. Remember that we came into this world as a naked baby, having nothing save what was given to us. You must also realize that you are not going to take anything with your when you leave this world. Paul then closes this epistle to Timothy out with the admonition to simply "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life. Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee."
